First implemented in Japan, the Hori Hori Classic digging tool was originally used for careful and methodical excavating of plants, such as Sansai, in the mountains. Barebones’ unique take on this classic implement was designed with garden work in mind. Its rounded top and serrated sides make it ideal for scooping, digging, and pulling weeds. Equipped with a heat-tempered, hollowback blade, full stainless steel tang, and comfortable walnut handle, the Barebones Hori Hori Classic is the diverse garden tool you can use for a lifetime. Intentionally added twine cutter doubles as a bottle opener, so you can enjoy your choice of refreshing beverage after a hard day's work.

New Ash and Mint enamel paint color for a bold and bright color match that makes tools pop in the dirt.

Q: Can I store my garden tools outside for extended periods of time?
A: Garden tools are not meant to be stored outside for long periods of time. Extended exposure to wet conditions may cause rust and unnecessary wear and tear. We recommend storing your garden tools indoors after use to help them last as long as possible and to avoid the need to purchase a replacement.

Great gift for the women gardeners in your life

The weight and aesthetic of this tool makes it a perfect gift for the green-thumb women in your life. It is useful for planting, separating, opening, cutting and a host of other applications when working around the yard with plants. It doesn't have the weighted end like the Hori Hori classic which makes it lighter and easier to wield. It brings a smile every time I gift one.

    Nice but lacking

The tool itself is 5 stars in my opinion. I had to use it to tunnel under the floor of my shop to reach my dog who was getting ready to giver birth to a litter. The reason I didn't mark it as a 5 star is because it didn't come with a sheath to house the tool. This version is the more expensive version of the toolbyet the cheaper versions come with a sheath. It was just disappointing to open the box and learn this
