Celebrating 6 Years as a B Corp
Committed to Better Business | Committed to our Employees | Committed to Quality Products
What makes us a B Corp?
SUSTAINABILITY IN MIND
Our philosophy on sustainability is ever-evolving: Every year, we create new goals to go beyond set metrics and aim for best-in-class sustainability policies to reduce waste and minimize environmental impact.
Most recently, we committed to reducing the amount of single-use plastics in our packaging. Biodegradable bags are now used wherever possible, and we continue to innovate product design that does not utilize plastics. (Our external packaging already consisted of recyclable cardboard.)
We are also committed to longevity and durability in our product design. Our products are primarily made with natural materials such as metal, wood, and glass. We also sell replacement parts for many of our top-selling products to encourage longevity and reusability. Finally, we create educational content (video, blogs, etc.) on how to care for our products and maintain their optimal performance.
A BETTER SUPPLY CHAIN
Our products are designed by our team in Salt Lake City, Utah, and manufactured by trusted facilities in China, Pakistan, and Taiwan that meet Business Social Compliance (BSCI) or who are working towards compliance with our support and guidance.
As an example, we work with local communities in Pakistan to produce several of our soft goods. These products are handmade by men and women in local villages. Through this cross-cultural enterprise, craftsmen and craftswomen earn wages that help raise their economic standing so they can provide more for their families.
At the core of Barebones DNA is a commitment to help individuals and communities at the most human level, without hesitation, and without borders. We espouse the same mindset when selecting the partners with whom we work. We choose to collaborate with organizations and craftsmen around the globe based on common goals and shared values, intending to support people both within our borders and worldwide.
Barebones takes its B Corp designation seriously. We ensure that our commitment to safe, ethical, and sustainable practices is upheld by each company and artisan that touches our products, without exception. We inspect each facility and company regularly and work only with those organizations that are as committed to the highest environmental and human standards. You can be confident that no matter where in the world your Barebones product was crafted, you are personally contributing to conscientious trade.
VOLUNTEERISM & WELLBEING
Giving back is a key element of our company culture and is at the heart of what we do. Employees receive a week of paid volunteer time to use with a non-profit of their choice. Many also volunteer locally in Utah at Roots Charter High School and Food Justice Coalition, two of our ongoing partnerships.
Our employee well-being comes before shareholder profits. We provide healthcare to our employees and their families, a flexible work environment, generous paid time off, and opportunities for ongoing training and certifications. Beyond a robust PTO benefit package, we also offer five additional Fridays off every year so employees can get outside and play in nature.
Donations & Shared Resources
Barebones has a history steeped in philanthropic work and continues to help lift people out of poverty by making donations when resources are available. In 2021, we donated over $150,000 to local community initiatives and environmental non-profits such as Roots Charter High School, Community Action of Utah, Food & Justice Coalition, Rescue Mission of Salt Lake, Outdoor Afro, and Soul Fire Farm. We also donate emergency shelters and products annually to areas in need.

• Advance women’s leadership, prosperity, and well-being
• Promote sustainable business practices and innovations
• Increase the flow of capital to women-led enterprises
• Advocate for systemic changes to uplift marginalized identities
